Evaluation between vitamin D serum level and Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 in the field of dentistry

Objectives: Our study sought to evaluate the association between HSV1 and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH) D) levels among dental students. Materials & Methods: This is a cross-sectional with quantitative approach conducted in Birjand, state of Khorasan Jonoobi, Iran, from July 2018 April 2019. A peripheral blood sample (5 ml) an anti-virus antibody along Serum (1,25(OH)2D3) were measured using Anti-Herpes-1 IgG kit ELISA by pathologist. Pearson chi-square tests applied significance level 5%. Results: The prevalence was 41%. D3 mean 23.22 ± 13.09. pre-clinical clinical higher than basic science, also, results represented that negative relation vitamin deficiency presence HSV1, but it not significant association. Conclusion: Any herpes viruses remains inconclusive. Further studies general population are needed.
